Maar de Voorjaarsschoonmaak actie van het Noorderplantsoen was zeker geen 1 april-grap!
Uit de buurtkrant:
“Zaterdag 1 april organiseren buurtgenoten en liefhebbers van het plantsoen Tineke en Tonny Evers en Ronald Kaatee weer de voorjaarsschoonmaak in het Noorderplantsoen. Iedereen is van harte welkom om zoveel mogelijk rotzooi uit het plantsoen op te ruimen. Nuttig en mooi werk om te doen en nog gezellig ook. Het resultaat is direct zichtbaar.”
En inderdaad, als ik om 10.45 aan kom wandelen zijn er al zeker 20 tot 25 mensen aanwezig.
Restaurant Zondag heeft voor koffie, thee en limonade gezorgd (en niet te vergeten een heerlijke brownie!), er staan een bestelbusje met vuilniszakken en grijpers klaar, de Gemeente heeft voor een heel grappige goochelaar gezorgd, na zijn prachtige act gaat iedereen goed gemotiveerd aan de slag.
En dan verspreidt een ieder zich over ons mooie en grote plantsoen. Sommigen (zoals ik) alleen, anderen in duo’s of in kleine (gezins)groepjes. En ja hoor, ondanks het feit dat de gemeente de zaak redelijk probeert bij te houden; we vinden heel veel rommel! Lege blikjes, sigarettenpeuken, plastic zakjes waar de hasj in heeft gezeten, lege flessen, aanstekers, zakdoekjes, bierdopjes, lipjes van blikjes, neem maar op! Bij de muziekkoepel staat een echtbaar haast moedeloos maar bovenal vasthoudend de honderden confetti-snippers weg te halen die er bij een recent feestje zijn achter gelaten. Toch fijn en goed dat ze ermee doorgaan!
Ik kan het niet laten om hier dan ook een welgemeende oproep te doen: lieve gebruikers van het plantsoen: gooi je rommel in een van de vele vuilnisbakken. Vooral ook die hele kleine dingetjes als peuken en bierdoppen! Het is haast ondoenlijk om die later allemaal weg te krijgen!
De paden worden door de gemeente redelijk bij gehouden, dus ik loop zoveel mogelijk buiten die gebaande paden (hmm, dat klinkt als de story of my life!). De meeste rotzooi vind je als je diep de bosjes in gaat. Je zou toch denken dat het veel makkelijker is om de zooi in de vuilnisbakken te gooien!
Maar behalve de flesjes en de blikjes vind je hier ook wel heel bijzondere dingen. Onderbroeken, BH’s, sokken, handschoenen, T-shirts, ja, zelfs een compleet deken. Allemaal te goor om aan te pakken, gelukkig heb ik een grijper bij me!
Om dan tot slot de volledig gevulde vuilniszak naar de verzamelplek te brengen was nog een aardig klusje. Ik moest onderweg diverse keren de zak van hand laten verwisselen, zo zwaar was ie! Maar met een voldaan gevoel loop ik tot slot weer richting huis. En niet alleen met een voldaan gevoel, maar ook nog met een mooie paraplu van de gemeente. Dank je wel Tineke, Tonny en Ronald voor dit geweldige initiatief. Ik hoop er over een half jaar weer bij te kunnen zijn!
